Like a luminous doorway or a shaft of light, this focal point has an almost physical appearance, together with the colours surrounding it has a sculpted quality. The cascading colours is setting the mood in this work, both vibrant and energetic, as it is catching a transient moment. The Cascading Vivacity series go closer at the colours, catching fleeting movements and exploring the intensity of the colour dialogues. In the Cascading Vivacity series Kristin use windows or doorways as focal points, the atmosphere is one of tranquility giving a impression that time have slowed down. The movements looks like they have been stilled a bit like freezing time, stopping running water or rays of light. This artwork is vibrant and energetic, powered by the inherent vitality and luminosity of the colours, the soft pastels give it an ethereal feel and velvety soft surface.
