A peaceful morning unfolds, revealing an ethereal light gently filtering through the soft mist that hangs in the air. The deep shadows of the mountain ridge gradually become shallower as the rugged cape meets the tranquil water below. The surface of the water, almost hypnotic, resembles a quiet mirror reflecting the serenity of the surrounding landscape.
Creating an abstract landscape on paper is much like telling a story through steep cliffs and rushing water. The tale of majestic mountains and friendly slopes are told by dry pigments rubbed into the paper until the whole surface is filled with colourful pigments that‘s creating images of recognisable shapes and places remembered. But its more than that, its a tale of life itself; It’s a soul scape and a reflection on human emotions.
I like to revisit a specific place in my mind, carefully translating the rich atmosphere into a vivid lyrical landscape with the thoughtful use of colour. This abstraction not only allows me to incorporate the entire experience but also brings forth the subtle scent of warm earth, the gentle sound of running water, and the delicate whispers of the wind. The landscape is beautifully dissolved and thoughtfully translated into a colour mood, thereby creating an intimate connection that resonates deeply with the soul.
This artwork is made with soft pastels and has a fine layer of fixative as finishing coat. It has a delicate surface and needs the protection of glass. It ships flat in a box.
