Creating an abstract landscape on paper is much like telling a story through steep cliffs and babbling brooks. The tale of majestic mountains and friendly slopes are told by dry pigments rubber ionto the cotton paper until the whole surface is filled with pigments creating the image of recognisable shapes of places remembered.

This artwork combines warm and cool hues that is palette of autum, with soft shadows and a delicate light that colours the land in subtle tones and changes the mood in phenomenal ways.

Kristin is drawn to untouched nature, often using abstract landscapes to express moods and emotions, her artworks is not site specific landscapes but capture the essence of an experience expressed via a landscape. Kristin lives at the West coast of Norway and this closeness to the sea and fjords are often present in her artworks.

This artwork is created with Unison soft pastels on 300 g Arches paper with a fine layer of Sennelier fixative as a finnishing coat. It has four deckle edges and a delicate surface that needs the protection of glass.
